GRACE, FAITH and LIFE
A Personal Statement of Christian Faith and
Practice
Scripture for "In us We Have"
100 (DANB) CB.3
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and
[that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil
continually.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in [your] mind by
wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and
worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen,
vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine
heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt
be saved.
5 Unto the pure all things [are] pure: but unto them that are defiled and
unbelieving [is] nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
1. And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins; Ephesians 2:5
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by
grace ye are saved;)
44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and
I will raise him up at the last day. Romans 10:10
10 For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of
God calleth Jesus accursed: and [that] no man can say
that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of
the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know
[them], because they are spiritually discerned.
10. But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness,
and despise government. Presumptuous [are they], selfwilled,
they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
8 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth
out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth
is not made perfect in love.
5. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you]
be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace
to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that
he may exalt you in due time:
1. This know also, that in the last days perilous
times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous,
boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce,
despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded,
lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but
denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they
which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away
with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of
the truth.
13. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision
of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all
trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us,
which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is
written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in
all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. 11 But that no
man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 12 And the law is not of
faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for
us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth
on a tree: Galatians 5:19 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which
are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry,
witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before,
as I have also told [you] in time past, that they which do such things shall
not inherit the kingdom of God.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God
gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not
convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity;
whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters,
inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable,
unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such
things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them
that do them.
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no,
not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there
is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone
out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth
good, no, not one. 13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre;
with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their
lips: 14 Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet [are]
swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery [are] in their ways: 17 And the
way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are
under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the
world may become guilty before God.
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;
and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 (For until the
law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not
sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him
that was to come.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have
entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that
love him. 5 10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the
Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the
deep things of God. 11 For what man knoweth the
things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even
so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit
of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit
which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of
God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth;
comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are
foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually
discerned.
2
Corinthians 7:9 9 Now I rejoice, not that ye were
made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a
godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. 10 For godly
sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be
repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh
death.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men
loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every
one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh
to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. 39 Search the scriptures; for in
them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts,
adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit,
lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil
things come from within, and defile the man.
21. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord,
shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father
which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out
devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that
work iniquity.
18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the
heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts,
murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
27. The spirit of man [is] the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward
parts of the belly. 28. Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.
21 For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the
dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
15 Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
DECADENCE
16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 7 17 For
the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit
against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye
cannot do the things that ye would.
12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak
evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their
own corruption; 13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, [as] they
that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots [they are] and blemishes,
sporting themselves with their own deceivings while
they feast with you; 14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease
from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous
practices; cursed children: 15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone
astray, following the way of Balaam [the son] of Bosor,
who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
18 For when they speak great swelling [words] of vanity, they allure through
the lusts of the flesh, [through much] wantonness, those that were clean
escaped from them who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they
themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of
the same is he brought in bondage.
1. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those
things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the
right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the
earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4 When
Christ, [who is] our life, shall appear, then shall ye
also appear with him in glory. 5. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness,
inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of
disobedience: 7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy
communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have
put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new [man], which is
renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is
neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision,
Barbarian, 8 Scythian, bond [nor] free: but Christ [is] all, and in all.
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also
we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling
the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of
wrath, even as others.
1. Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And
walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an
offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. 3. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or
covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh
saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor
jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye
know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an
idolater, hath any inheritance in the
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts,
adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit,
lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil
things come from within, and defile the man.
3 And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.
FLESH
22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the
Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, [see that ye] love one another with
a pure heart fervently: 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of
incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
13. For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye
received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received [it] not [as] the
word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For [it is] a good
thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not
profited them that have been occupied therein.
8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things
which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work:
only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken
out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall
consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of
his coming: 9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all
power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of
unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the
truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them
strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That
they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in
unrighteousness. # GAL 5:1 Galatians
5:1 1. Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath
made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in
craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of
the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 3
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In
whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not,
lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God,
should shine unto them. 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the
Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who commanded the
light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light
of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
16 [This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the
flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the
things that ye would.
15 Love not the world, neither the things [that are] in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16
For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the
eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And
the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he
that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the
simplicity that is in Christ.
10. But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness,
and despise government. Presumptuous [are they], selfwilled,
they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. # TIT 3:4-6 Titus 3:4 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
1 Timothy 1:5
5. Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and [of] a
good conscience, and [of] faith unfeigned:
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: 3 Among whom also
we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling
the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of
wrath, even as others.
18 To open their eyes, [and] to turn [them] from darkness to light, and
[from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins,
and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work
in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ:
6 Which is come unto you, as [it is] in all the
world; and bringeth forth fruit, as [it doth] also in
you, since the day ye heard [of it], and knew the grace of God in truth:
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which
is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth;
comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send
in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your
remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
26. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the
Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth
from the Father, he shall testify of me:
7. Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is
expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not
come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is
come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to
my Father, and ye see me no more; 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this
world is judged. 12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear
them now. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you
into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall
hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you
things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall
shew [it] unto you.
17. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
20. But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and
ye know all things.
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
NATURAL
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of
the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know
[them], because they are spiritually discerned.
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and
[that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil
continually.
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified [him] not as God,
neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish
heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
15 Unto the pure all things [are] pure: but unto them that are defiled and
unbelieving [is] nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish,
disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and
envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.
10. But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness,
and despise government. Presumptuous [are they], selfwilled,
they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery,
fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance,
emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings,
murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of
the which I tell you before, as I have also told [you] in time past, that they
which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men
loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one
that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to
the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God
gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not
convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness,
covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity;
whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters,
inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable,
unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things
are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do
them.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save
the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things
of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
6 For of this sort are they
which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away
with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of
the truth.

and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 (For until the
law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14

we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling
the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of
wrath, even as others.
13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves
into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed
into an angel of light.
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is
dead also.
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no,
not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there
is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone
out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth
good, no, not one. 13 Their throat [is] an open sepulchre;
with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their

swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery [are] in their ways: 17 And the
way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are
under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the
world may become guilty before God.
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not
sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him
that was to come.
23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that
believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he
live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me
shall never die. Believest thou this? 27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the
Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
1. Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have
knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. 2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth
nothing yet as he ought to know. 3 But if any man love
God, the same is known of him.
21 For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the
dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I
live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am
come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.
31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
7 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
